and early 70's, a voice led the idea of politically changed poetry set
to music for the purpose of changing the world; that voice was
Gill-Scott Heron.
At the turn of the century a new voice comes into earshot. Borrowing from the rich heritage created in no small part by Gill-Scott Heron, Sarah Jones raises awareness of the exploitation of women in pop culture.
